Welcome to M.E Dance Academy

M.E Dance Academy is directed by Megan (Erasmus) Vuma who is a highly established dancer, choreographer, teacher and director based in Midrand, South Africa. She and her team of teachers offers ballet, jazz, hip-hop and contemporary to children (from age 3) and adults. Megan’s boundless skill in dance not only caters to training and grooming talent, but to instil confidence, self-appreciation and determination to strive for excellence.

About Megan

At M. E Dance Academy we are grooming dancers for competitions and shows. Megan is the founder of Heels in Mo tion dance fitness classes. Megan Erasmus has been dancing since the age of 5 years old with a foundation of ballet and modern jazz at her local community center called CAFDA in Cape Town. She then auditioned for Jazzart Dance Theatre and trained in African contemporary.

Megan performed in the title hit series ‘Backstage’ and moved to Johannesburg to be a resident dancer for the series produced by Mfundi Vundla.

Her resume continued to grow working with choreographers like Somizi Mhlongo, Debbie Rakusin, David Matamela and Daniel Swanepoel. One of her highlights was performing and choreographing for the late singer Lebo Mathosa, touring Africa and Europe with MTV Base sharing stages with Shaggy, Tuface, Black Eyed Peas, Will Smith, Ludacris, Tamia, John Legend and Beyonce. Other local artists that she performed with included Lira, Danny K, Mandoza, Karen Zoid and Emo Adams.

Megan choreographed many corporate events and commercials for Africa. She created a syllabus for King David High school in contemporary dance and University of Cape Town for 2nd and 3rd year contemporary students.

Scars, a two-woman theatre show was produced and performed by Megan Erasmus and Celeste Botha and was documented and screened at the Encounters Film Festival at Ster Kinekor in Cape Town and Johannesburg.

Some of Megan’s highlights was when she choreographed the South African Music Awards 2015, African Cup of Nations with Somizi Mhlongo. She is one of the directors for The SEED Thru Arts NPC giving back to underprivileged communities. Megan has now made it her priority to use dance to enrich the lives of others no matter how young or old. She is a Choreographer, Teacher, Director and Producer.
